11 Course Baroque Lute

This is an 11 course French Baroque lute after a shell of Laux Maler, having a mensur of 72cm. It has the rose from the C33 Hans Frei lute in Vienna, a birdseye maple back, ebony veneered pegbox and neck, fretwork on the back of the pegbox in holly, an arched fingerboard, Venetian half binding, and rosewood pegs. Price $3,500. I also make the Hans Frei C33 lute in the same configuration, and it looks very similar, except it is slightly smaller at 67.4cm. Also $3,500

Here is my wife Robin carving the rose for this lute. She carves through a paper pattern through the wood. The rose is one piece with the top, not inlaid as in Medieval lutes or guitars.
