Baroque Violin

This violin, copied after a mid-period Guarneri del Gesu, is in early Baroque setup.  It has a wedged maple fingerboard on a straight-set neck, a matching tailpiece, a hand-made baroque style bridge, a smaller bass bar, boxwood pegs, gut strings, bone nut and saddle, and amber brown oil varnish.  The tone is very sweet and clear, and surprisingly loud.  Price $3,800

The fingerboard and tailpiece are inlaid with black-white-black wooden strips, and the bridge is cut to a Baroque pattern
