Stradivari Baroque Guitar

5 course Baroque guitar after Antonio Stradivari, Ashmolean Museum no.41  This is the famous guitar that is "too long" at 74cm.  However the neck was so long that it is perfectly proportioned at 66cm., with no alteration to the body.  Curly maple sides and back, with inlays of cello purfling.  Triple layer rose, with bone dots and diamonds inlaid into mastic.  The same decoration is repeated on the bridge.  Ebony fingerboard, spruce top..  Hand turned pegs.  Not as highly decorated as the usual Baroque guitar, but very elegant in its proportions and choice of timbers.  $4,900
